I am, first and foremost, a mother. I want to capture for you the kind of images I want of my own family: authentic, joyful, and beautiful. I specialize in children's and family photography because I truly love working children. Prior to opening my photography business, I taught elementary school for years. (This comes in very handy as I interact with your children during our sessions!) I loved my students and continue to keep in touch with many of them. I truly believe I was meant to work with children, and I always will.
I have also always been drawn to the arts: painting, drawing, writing poetry and stories, acting, playing music—I love it all. As far as photography, I can't remember a time when I didn't love taking pictures. I got my first "real" camera in high school and took pictures for our local newspaper, as well as senior pictures for many of my friends. What started with developing my own film photographs in a makeshift darkroom in my high school has evolved into this beautiful little business.
When I'm not behind my camera (or computer), I love spending time with my family, adventuring outdoors, and eating sweet potato fries.
